About Spectra Online
Spectra Online is a FREE web-based spectral database service for the chemical research community. The spectra in the database are comprised of collections of public domain and other data generously submitted by various institutions and individuals. The database spans many different classes of compounds including drugs, common chemicals, polymers, petroleum products among others. It includes spectral data from many different instrument types such as FT-IR, UV-Vis, NIR, Raman, MS, NMR (13C, 1H and others), XRD and more. Please note that Thermo Electron Corporation does not review the data in the collections; all spectra and related compound information are presented "as-is" in the form they we received.

We invite anyone and everyone interested in spectroscopy to use the Spectra Online web site and database. You can use all the search capabilities of the site as much as you like, however the site requires you to register to view detailed information on the spectra in the database. There is no charge for registration. Please refer to the Privacy Statement and the help documentation for more information on the registration process.

As with any database, it is only as valuable as the volume of information it contains. Although the Spectra Online database has quite a large number of unique collections, we always welcome contributions of additional data both online and offline. Registered users can upload individual data files directly into the database. However, if you would like to donate a large collection of spectra, please use the feedback form and a member of our staff will contact you as soon as possible.

If you are looking for a particular FT-IR or Raman spectrum and cannot find it here, you may want to try FTIRsearch.com, a pay-per-use spectral database service co-sponsored by Thermo Electron's Molecular Spectroscopy and Informatics and Services groups. This web site provides cost effective access to the complete Thermo Electron spectral library collection which includes over 71,000 FT-IR and nearly 16,000 Raman spectra. FTIRsearch.com offers the single largest and broadest online collection of fully reviewed, high quality spectral data.
