InPhotonics Raman Forensics Library

This small collection of 15 Raman spectra was donated to the Spectra Online database by InPhotonics, Inc., a manufacturer of Raman spectrometers and Fiber Optic Probes. These spectra were selected from InPhotonics' commercial database of over 240 Raman spectra of compounds in important to forensic research. Since these spectra are copyrighted by InPhotonics they can only be viewed online and cannot be downloaded from the Spectra Online database. The full database, which can be ordered directly from InPhotonics, includes spectra of narcotics, explosives, precursors and other related forensic chemicals.

All spectra were measured on InPhotonics' RS2000 spectrometer using a 785 nm excitation source and RamanProbe for sampling. Data were collected from 220 - 3200 cm-1 and at better than 4 cm-1 spectral resolution. Instrument response was corrected using a NIST-traceable white light source; frequency was calibrated with atomic lamps and standard samples recommended by the ASTM.
