Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following statement discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the Spectra Online web site.

Only Thermo Fisher Scientific. has full access to any and all user registration and session tracking information. No other entity has access or any rights of use to the information, nor will the information be used for any purpose other than stated.

Registration
The Spectra Online registration process requires that you supply an email address. This will be your unique user name to log on to Spectra Online.

The registration form also requires you to give us some demographic information. In addition, there is an "opt-in" option for receiving email, mailings and other promotional materials. If you choose to "opt-in," you may receive email, periodic newsletters, or promotional material from Thermo Fisher Scientific. You can change your "opt-in" status at any time.

Cookies
This site uses in-memory cookies to keep track of you while you are using the web site. Cookies are only used for maintaining your session link.

We do not use cookies to compile individual user statistics, demographic profiles or any other personal statistical information. Cookies are written to your hard drive simply for the purpose of remembering who you are whenever you use Spectra Online, eliminating the need for you to log in everytime. If cookies are disabled, each time you access Spectra Online, you will be asked to log in and a pop-up message about not being able to write cookies will be displayed.

IP Address Information
Spectra Online uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer the web site. IP address information may be used to determine broad visitation statistics for the entire web site, but will not be linked uniquely to you.

Uploaded Data Files
Spectra Online allows users to upload data files for searching against the database (Search 'By Spectrum Matching') and for insertion into the database ('Submit a File'). All uploaded data files are temporarily stored on the server in their original format during a user session and are purged afterwards. However, if a data file is not recognized by the SmartConvert engine or fails to translate properly, it will be stored offline to allow Thermo Electron Corporation to evaluate and fix the problem.

Please be aware that the Spectra Online web site does not use any encryption technology. Data files are uploaded to the site transmitted across the Internet "as-is". Any data uploaded into the database using the 'Submit a File' option is instantly available for all other Spectra Online users to access. Data files uploaded for 'Spectrum Matching' are only accessible to the user who uploaded and only during the same user session. Please do not upload data files of proprietary samples. Thermo Electron Corporation does not guarantee protection of proprietary data on the Spectra Online web site.

Hyperlinks to Other Web Sites
Spectra Online contains links to other web sites on the Internet. Thermo Electron Corporation is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

Update of User Information
All Spectra Online users may change, modify or remove user information previously provided by logging in to Spectra Online and changing the user profile information.
